To the Things of the Frontier, you're either Nothing or Something! What if you're the best at your job? You're now a highlight in Thing history! That's what happend to dear Derby Bowler. Nothing to Something, Rags to Riches, it started off so classic! Until that little hat disapeared. Now Things weren't so show if being a Something was worth. Their leader tried to soothe the Things because he was a bit of a "bleeding heart" but his past decisions had been haunting him for some time. Like letting a Raptor and a Farthing- an outlaw- into their home! In retaliation, they cast out their leader and the other two out! "Come back with Derby or don't come back out!" However, Derby finds themselves in the conflict of ever coming back at all...

There are only two species in the Known World, Raptors and Things. No one knows how or why this correlation happened though many have their theories- scientific and spiritual. Most just don't think about it too much.
